Overview

After moving to a seaside town, I was struck anew by the wonder of daily life lived in close relationship with nature, and felt compelled to begin photographing as if guided by the call of the sea.

This exhibition presents two bodies of work:

• “Portraits” — a series in which washed-ashore objects are photographed with a large-format 4×5 camera as if they were human portraits.

• “Seaside Canon” — images of the sea, sky, and human life in between, depicting the cyclical rhythm of nature that ebbs and flows.

By weaving together these perspectives on the shoreline, the exhibition forms a single composition — a photographic “Suite.”
